honest and unique newborn memories in Washington DC

Having a newborn is life-changing, it is a unique experience. It is beautiful. But let's be real, it is also hard, it is a time to adjust to new routines and the demands of both a new life and our bodies to heal.

Believe me, I understand! I have had three newborns myself! I have been there, through the sleepless nights, baby blues and a little post partum depression. It was joy and chaos at the same time, specially when you have more kids to take care of.

I went through it all, and the sad thing is that even if I took millions of photographs myself, I was never in any of them. And that is something I regret because these will be moments that never come back.

So I want to tell you why you should not miss the opportunity to have newborn photography done when you bring your newborn baby home.

1. Because the first weeks go by in a rush:

The early weeks of a newborn's life often feel like a whirlwind. Between adjusting to new routines, sleepless nights, and endless care, the days can slip by unnoticed. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness, but before you know it, those initial moments will be in the past, and you'll wish you had taken more time to savor them.

2. Because newborns change so fast:

Newborns grow and develop at an astonishing rate. In just a few weeks, they’ll hit new milestones, like their first smiles or coos, making each moment unique. These first stages of their life pass so quickly, and it's easy to forget how tiny and delicate they once were. Capturing these early moments allows you to preserve memories of the rapid changes they go through.

3. Because you will look back at these and be grateful forever:

The days may seem long when you're in the thick of it, but once they pass, you'll find yourself looking back with immense gratitude. The memories of those first few weeks will become unique moments that shape your family's story. Having a record of those early days will remind you of the love, joy, and challenges that come with welcoming a new life into the world.

4. Because we will never be the same again:

The arrival of a newborn marks a profound shift in every aspect of life. From your daily routines to your personal identity, things will never be quite the same again. While the changes may feel overwhelming at times, they also bring growth and deeper connections with your child, your partner, and yourself. Embracing these changes allows you to fully appreciate the new chapter you're entering.

5. Because every moment is a precious gift:

Every second with your newborn is a gift that cannot be recaptured. Whether it's their tiny hand wrapping around your finger, your first experience breastfeeding, their peaceful sleep, or their curious gaze, these moments are irreplaceable. As time moves on, those little details may fade, but by cherishing them now, you create lasting memories that will continue to warm your heart for years to come.

I invite you to never take for granted these moments, to let me create unique photographs full of those honest first few days with your baby.
