First time parents? these are not just photos...


These images document the beginning of a new chapter—the quiet, meaningful journey that starts when you find out you are expecting your first baby.


I had the pleasure of photographing this couple in Washington, DC, and spending time with them in a way that felt relaxed and natural. As a Washington DC photographer, I value creating space for my clients to feel comfortable and present. Every session becomes more than photographs; it becomes a record of a moment in their lives. Clients share their stories, their hopes, and their excitement about what’s ahead, and that trust is something I never take for granted.


This maternity photography session took place both inside their home and throughout their neighborhood in Washington DC. We started indoors, capturing the calm and warmth of their everyday environment, then went outside for a walk along the streets that are part of their daily routine. Photographing clients in places that matter to them adds depth and meaning to the images. These are the streets where they walk together now, and soon where they will walk with their baby.


As both a maternity and newborn photographer, I believe these moments before birth are just as important as the ones that come after. There is no need for posing or pressure during a session. The focus is on being present, allowing real interactions to unfold, and creating photographs that feel honest and lasting.
